Program description
Education at the Doctoral School of Medical and Health Sciences of the Jagiellonian University lasts 8 semesters (4 years) and ends with the submission of a PhD dissertation and prepares for obtaining a doctoral degree in the field of medical sciences and health sciences, in the disciplines of medical sciences, pharmacology and pharmacy sciences, health sciences.
Education at the Doctoral School is based on the Doctoral School Programme and the Individual Research Plan (IPB), submitted within 12 months from the date of commencement of education.
The Doctoral School Programme consists of three blocks: obligatory education, specialized education in the field of research methodology and supplementary education in the field of vocational education and soft skills. During the studies, three educational paths are followed, depending on the disciplines of the PhDdissertation being prepared.
In the Doctoral School Programme, PhD student can choose numerous optional courses. To complete the education at the Doctoral School, it is required to complete 60 hours of professional traineeship and a research internship of at least two weeks conducted at a foreign center. The doctoral program is conducted in Polish and/or English.
